OUR STORY

Since 2001, Southend Building Products, Inc. has been a leader in the reclaimed, green building industry. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, our roots are in the reclaimed building industry. We find obsolete textile mills, barns, and factories throughout North and South Carolina and carefully deconstruct the buildings, reclaiming nearly every piece of these historic treasures in the process. Environmentally, the results of Southend’s endeavors are tremendous and far-reaching. Not only is the material from these old mills (most are 250,000 square feet or bigger) saved from the landfill, but the precious materials are recycled, re-processed, and returned to the market in a variety of forms to be used again for future building projects. The materials reclaimed include antique wood, brick, metals, glass, and more.

Southend not only wholesales the reclaimed raw material to a variety of flooring, brick, and metal manufacturers and distributors across the country, but we also re-process the antique wood into stunning flooring and custom millwork. Whether it is antique heart pine, wormy chestnut, or reclaimed oak, Southend helps the "old breathe new life again."  Annually, Southend reclaims and recycles millions of board feet of antique lumber, millions of antique brick, and millions of pounds of metals.

Additionally, in the beginning of 2009, Southend unveiled our new line of other green building products to help meet the growing demand for environmentally sound construction. We are dedicated to continuing to push the envelope of our own knowledge and product line of green building.

When it comes to building green, Southend Building Products continues to lead the way.
